Rewriting the future of Disc Golf

At Disc Golf Mart, we’ve always believed in the power of disc golf to bring people together. Once the people are together, truly remarkable things can happen through the power of community. When you strengthen the bonds, you strengthen the community itself.

This isn’t your typical sponsorship program. Instead of focusing on performance or social media numbers, we’re prioritizing what really matters: building community and making a meaningful impact in the world of disc golf. It's the smallest of actions that add up to make the biggest difference.

What Makes a Sponsored Player

Meet the team

We're looking for 3 types of sponsored players to join the team. Let's meet the gang!

Casey Casual

The Happy-to-be-Here Type

Casey Casual plays for the love of the game. Whether it’s a relaxed evening round or introducing a first-time player to disc golf, Casey is all about sharing the experience and growing the community. If you enjoy meeting new players and giving back to the sport, this role is for you.

Taylor Tournament

The Knows-their-Rating Type

Taylor Tournament is driven, competitive, and committed to improving. From C-tiers to larger events, Taylor represents Disc Golf Mart with kindness and passion. This sponsorship is for players who show up, work hard, and want their season to be supported as they compete.

Jordan Junior

The Future of Disc Golf Type

Jordan Junior is learning, growing, and having fun on the course. Whether playing with friends or competing in tournaments, Jordan represents the next generation of disc golfers. This sponsorship supports players aged 17 & under who are excited to play often and improve their skills.

What's Expected of a Sponsored Player

Volunteer

You'll be expected to volunteer at one DGM Tournament and one Non-DGM tournament. TDs can always use more support and we'll be there to help.

Be Kind                                                          Good competition makes the game stronger. We'll celebrate the other players wins and pick them up when they lose.
Be Active

The only thing worse than a disc you don't throw, is a disc in your bag that you don't throw. You should be active in your local community & making an impact.

Questions?

Players of all skill levels can apply. There are three sponsorship types:

Casual players focused on community and spreading the sport

Tournament players committed to competing

Junior players (17 & under) developing their game and playing often

Casual: You play for fun, enjoy meeting new players, and help grow the local community.

Tournament: You compete in sanctioned events and want support for entry fees and performance.

Junior: You’re 17 or younger, play regularly, and want encouragement to stay active and improve.

Yes, you can only pick one team to apply for.

Only Tournament players are encouraged to play regularly or compete. Casual & Junior players focus on community rounds and introducing new players to the sport. Competitive players benefit from reimbursement as they enter more events.

Tournament player benefits scale with participation:

  • Future entry fee credit increases as you compete in more events
    • Starting with your 5th sanctioned tournament, you'll earn 25% of the future entry fee credit
    • Starting with your 9th sanctioned tournament, you'll earn 50% of the future entry fee credit
    • Starting with your 12th sanctioned tournament, you'll earn 75% of the future entry fee credit
  • Podium finishes also earn bonuses. For any Professional players, you'll receive a cash bonus & any ams will receive store credit.

(Exact reimbursement details are part of your sponsorship agreement.)

Yes! But we'll need to be mindful of some rules from the PDGA. 1.10 Distribution of Prizes talks about how amateurs cannot receive cash payment for performance at a tournament.

To honor this rule, we'll issue payment directly to the TD for your next event. The devil's in the details but for amateur players, you will not receive a cash payment, we'll instead offer store credit or work with your next event's TDs on payment.

We'll use uDisc to keep track of the round streak and all tournaments that you compete in can be reported to us. Yes, someone could fudge the uDisc rounds but we also choose to believe that if you find a disc you should text the person back. We're all working on the honor system.

We're looking to keep overall team sizes between 10-20 players per store. We're expecting to need to send out more rejection letters this year compared to last year. So please take your time and put your best foot forward.

We'll review applications the first week in the new year and get back with players asap.

No. Applicants should choose the sponsorship tier that best matches how they currently play disc golf. Players may be considered for a different tier in future seasons based on participation and engagement.

Videos are not required this year. However, any application can include a link to a video. The best video submission will get to take home the Zuca Backpack LG cart that Chris's been using for the last few months! This is not a requirement and will not be used in consideration for team applications, this is just for fun...and Chris's cart.

Volunteer commitments are an important part of the program. If something comes up, communication is key. Players who do not meet volunteer expectations may not be eligible for renewal the following season.

You'll receive a stack of custom mini's with the goal of giving these mini's away to players that you meet. These mini's are exchangeable for a free disc from the local store. Once 3 of your mini's have been exchanged for a disc, then you'll receive a free disc as well.
